During the first week of the academic year, our excited Lower Third pupils enjoyed an adventure filled two days spent enjoying fun activities at school and at High Ashurst Outdoor Education Centre, Dorking.

The Lower Third induction trip is always a wonderful way to encourage pupils to meet new friends, learn new names and come together during team building activities. Pupils took part in a range of fun activities from abseiling, zip lines to orienteering and, unlike the trip last year, pouring rain was replaced by wall-to-wall sunshine!

Pupils threw themselves into their activities (in some cases, quite literally!) and enjoyed a delicious BBQ with gusto, revelling in the opportunity to get to know one another and their tutors a little better.

I was very pleased to see pupils working together in the team building activities and showing kindness to each other and their nervous tutors attempting the leap of faith! My thanks to Mr Helliwell, Matron and the Lower Third tutors who all contributed to making the trip such a success!

Richard Harvey, Head of Lower School

I'm so pleased I gained the confidence to jump off the trapeze!

Toby

It was really nice to make some new friends.

Mary

I loved the climbing and the high ropes - I like being out of my comfort zone!

Abi

The rock climbing was my favourite - I even won chocolate from Matron!
