Visit Us

You can only begin to get a sense of life at St John’s from the pages of a prospectus or website and so we would encourage you to visit us.  By meeting pupils and staff and walking around the School, you will get a much better understanding of what makes this such a special place to be.

We run a variety of events throughout the year including whole-school Open Events and smaller events for specific audiences.  We do recommend that you attend one of these if possible as they give you the chance to meet a wide variety of staff members and to talk about the full breadth of activities on offer at St John’s.  However, if you are unable to attend on the dates advertised, please do get in touch with our admissions team and we will be happy to arrange an opportunity for you to visit St John's.

We were delighted to 'virtually' welcome prospective families to St John's for our Virtual Open Event on Tuesday 23 June.  For those who missed that event, you can watch our introductory video and read answers to some of the most frequently asked questions here. We hope to be able to welcome families to St John's again in Autumn Term and you can book your place for the events currently scheduled below.

Forthcoming Events

Whole-school Open Events (11+, 13+, 16+)

St John's holds whole-school open events in the Autumn and Spring each year. During these events, the whole of the School is open and on show, and tours are given by current pupils, as well as talks by The Head and St John’s pupils.

Friday events (Autumn Term)
Talks take place at 5.30 and 6.15pm, with the last tours available from 6.15pm

Saturday events (Autumn and Spring Term)
Talks take place at 9.30 and 10.15am, with the last tours available from 10.15am.

Booking is not essential for a Whole-school Open Event. Please note that there is no onsite parking available. Attendants will direct you to the two reception areas.

Discover Events (11+, 13+)

Discover St John’s mornings are smaller open events for prospective pupils and parents, held on a normal school day regularly throughout the year in the Old Chapel.  The morning begins with refreshments and the opportunity to speak with academic staff, followed by a talk from The Head.  Visitors are then shown around the School by pupils.

Advance booking is required for Discover Events. Please note that some of these events are for families of Year 6 pupils only.

Taster Mornings (11+, 13+)

Taster Mornings, usually held on a Saturday in the Autumn Term, are designed to allow prospective pupils who are currently in Year 6 to get a flavour of school life at St John's.

Advance booking is required for Taster Mornings.

These events are bookable from 1 September 2020.

Sixth Form Events (16+)

For Sixth Form entry both the whole-school events and the Sixth Form specific events are recommended.

Advance booking is recommended for Sixth Form Events.
