SJPA Christmas Market
Christmas festivities began at St John’s School during the last weekend of November, with the SJPA Christmas Market. With twinkling lights and stalls aplenty, families had the perfect opportunity to peruse gifts, food and tombola stalls.
The annual event, organised by a dedicated team of SJPA members, brings together the School community to enjoy a fantastic Christmas shopping event and fun day out, while raising funds that support projects across the School. Stalls this year included local companies offering gifts such as scarves, Christmas decorations, personalised artwork and jewellery.
Penny Horner-Long, Chair of the SJPA, commented: “The SJPA were delighted to welcome more families than ever to this year’s Christmas Market. We were really pleased to receive such positive feedback about the quality of stalls, delicious food and fun for kids. I am glad that everyone enjoyed themselves and pleased that we will be able to support an exciting range of school projects with the money raised.”
Pupils also involved themselves in the fundraising efforts and many houses ran their own stalls, including creating handmade Christmas tree decorations and games. From cake pops to mince pies, a tasty treat was available at every turn. St John’s School would like to thank the SJPA and all involved in creating such an enjoyable start to the Christmas season. Over the next few days, we’re looking forward to other festive highlights of the calendar including the Michaelmas Concert and Christmas Rock Concert.
