A Midsummer Night's Dream
On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 January, pupils from Fourth Form to Lower Sixth gave an outstanding performance of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ which was by turns hilarious, immersive and enthralling.
The first drama performance of the decade was innovatively staged ‘in-the-round’ meaning that the audience were encircled amongst the action. The enthused audience were very much part of the play, particularly during the curtain call where the cast danced with them on stage!
Head of Academic Drama, Mr Garbett praised the cast: “Pupils were highly engaging and the detailed characterisation from the entire cast was excellent. The cast collaborated and worked together as an ensemble brilliantly.”
Lower Sixth pupil Emilie’s design complemented the action of the play beautifully and her execution of the costume design, poster design and donkey head mask gave the production a real sense of flair and visual flamboyance.
We look forward to further shows and events, including Little Women, which is now available to book for performances in March. Click here to view What’s On and book tickets.
