Thursday 17 October saw pupils enjoy the first Enrichment Day of this academic year. Enrichment Days are a valuable addition to the School calendar, providing opportunities for pupils to develop and explore a range of skills and subjects from a different perspective, and to take part in team building activities.
Lower Third pupils enjoyed a day walking around the local countryside, including taking in the Stane Street roman road. Pupils collected data about how the temperature and wind speed vary with altitude as well as learning more about navigation and Ordnance Survey maps.
One half of Upper Third pupils enjoyed an exhilarating trip to iFly in Basingstoke, where pupils spent time in a science seminar and workshop and then had the fantastic opportunity to put their skills into practice during a session of indoor skydiving. The second half of Upper Third pupils ventured to London, where pupils enjoyed a design workshop on the London Eye, a river cruise on the Thames and a visit to the Sealife Centre.
Fourth Form pupil’s enrichment adventure was a fun and informative day of learning at the Warner Bros studios in Hertfordshire, to understand the technique and skill of film set design, props and visuals.
Fifth Form had lots of fun learning to cook delicious treats including pizza and cheesecake with our catering team. The pupils excitedly competed in a cupcake decorating competition, producing fantastic designs! Pupils also enjoyed activities within school, including sports. Further trips included a biology field trip, CCF overnight field adventures, and a Lower Sixth visit to Oxford University.
