A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM - THE SHAKESPEARE PROJECT

Shakespeare’s most popular comedy comes to St Johns, featuring pupils from across the Senior School.
This is a story of love and marriage, order and disorder, reality and delusion. It features four young lovers who run away
to the forest, only for mayhem to ensue when fairies and magic decide to intervene.

St John’s annual music competition open to all musicians, of all standards. Pupils are awarded prizes in three categories and the winners of all categories will perform in an evening concert on Wednesday 26 February.

 

THE FORBES MUSIC COMPETITION  - BATTLE OF THE BANDS

Wednesday 5 February 2020, 7.00pm - 8.30pm
Venue: Performing Arts Centre
An evening for our aspiring rock musicians to prove whether they have the ‘X Factor’. The winning band will perform in the Forbes Music Competition Winners’ Concert on Wednesday 26 February.

We hold a programme of lunchtime recitals during the Spring Term which offers a number of opportunities to enjoy the variety of musical talent at St John's. Pre-performance refreshments will be provided.

ST JOHN'S FOOTBALL CONFERENCE

St John's are delighted to host an inspiring, informative and engaging day of keynote lectures and seminars from leading football professionals on topics ranging from performance culture to developing individuals and sports science to psychology. We would be delighted to welcome teachers, coaches and sporting professionals for a day of personal development. 

 

FORBES MUSIC COMPETITION WINNERS' CONCERT

The winners of all three categories (Junior, Intermediate and Advanced) across all instruments and alongside our winning band perform together in one celebratory concert.

A NIGHT AT THE MOVIES

Tuesday 10 March 2020, 7.00pm - 8.30pm

Tickets: £5.00 per person (£4.00 concessions) plus £1 booking fee. Click below to book via G Live website.

The Performing Arts Department go on tour to present an evening of music from the silver screen. Every music ensemble from St John’s will take part, including renditions of classics ranging from Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Back to the Future and the ever popular Star Wars.

LITTLE WOMEN

Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 March 2020, 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Venue: Performing Arts Centre
This year’s Spring Term Production will be a theatrical adaptation of the literary classic Little Women. Against the
backdrop of the American Civil War, Little Women follows the four March sisters as they face the hardships of growing up amidst the constraints of genteel poverty and the reality of social expectations. This promises to be a beautiful and
enchanting performance featuring pupils from Fourth Form to Upper Sixth.
