On Thursday 10 February, pupils enjoyed the second Enrichment Day of the academic year. Pupils experienced a vast array of activities, which explored a range of skills. From learning about wildlife, street art and science, to weapons training with the CCF – the Enrichment Day activities are a fantastic way to develop and explore subjects from a different perspective.

Lower Third pupils travelled to the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium. Pupils enjoyed a discovery session, a visit the planetarium for a presenter led live show and exploring the interactive science exhibitions.

Upper Third pupils enjoyed a fantastic performing arts workshop. Pupils enthusiastically learnt musical numbers from the hit musical Mary Poppins as well as a choreographed dance routine with a professional dancer. Pupils also welcomed the Directors from Apollo Theatre Company to help them learn more on building characters.

Fourth Form pupils travelled to London Zoo, where they were e able to visit the exhibitions and enclosures and enjoy an educational session where they learnt about the wildlife under threat. During the workshop pupils saw real life customs seizures, which revealed the devastating impact of hunting and the illegal trading of animals and animal products, and they discovered how the zoo is helping to combat this.

Pupils in Upper Fifth and Upper Sixth enjoyed an array of enrichment activities including an art workshop and walking tour of East London’s famous art scene, laser tag, go karting, golf, paintballing, self-defence workshops and a visit to Chatham Ski Centre!

CCF pupils enjoyed spending time completing a field day with their sections. Cadets visits to Longmoor Training Camp and HMS Collingwood included an obstacle course, shooting, archery, weapons handling, and other military based activities.

Lower Sixth pupils enjoyed a visit to the University of Sussex to learn more about their choices and decisions in regard to University. The pupils attended targeted sessions to support them in their university application process.
