The Lower School activities programme at St John’s provides pupils with access to a range of opportunities involving sport, music, drama, adventure, trips and links with the community. Achievement is recognised through the award of a Lower School diploma.

The Lower School activities’ programme is designed to give pupils a rounded exposure to our co-curricular programme, which sits alongside the academic core of the School.

Pupils are encouraged to participate fully in sport, both representing the School in team sports and in the enjoyment of others. Fixtures can be found here.

Our dedicated Performing Arts Centre enables a variety of instruments to be studied, alongside a thriving choir and a Lower School drama production, giving younger pupils their chance to take centre stage and shine.

The programme also has academic extension built into it, giving pupils time to inquire and broaden their horizons. This is mirrored outside of the classroom, through a custom-designed leadership programme, learning life skills and becoming involved in the community around them. Pupil achievement is recognised through the award of a diploma at the end of the Upper Third (Year 8). The diploma rewards development and success across the full range of areas within school life, encouraging pupils to give their best and fulfil their potential.
