New Opportunities to make a Difference...
The Foundation has a wonderful history. It was established in 1852 through generous donations from private individuals to provide an education for the ‘sons of the Poor Clergy.’ Since those early days the St John’s Foundation has funded over 4,000 Foundationers through the School – a remarkable achievement. St John’s has changed a great deal since these early days and is now one of the leading Schools in Surrey and the South East. Key to our future is our ability to fund future investment, not just in resources that enable us to deliver a first class education, but also in widening access to the School and its facilities to those, like the original ‘sons of Poor Clergy’, who are unable to afford the future an education at St John’s provides. The St John’s Foundation, while continuing its support for the children of clergy, now has an enhanced list of priorities which will support St John’s into the future. It will:
