An important part of the St John’s School community is the St John’s Parents’ Association, or SJPA as it is more commonly known. The SJPA aims to enhance relations between pupils, parents and staff at St John’s and its main objective is to raise funds for projects which benefit all pupils at the School, while providing an enjoyable social environment for parents to meet.
New for the 2011/12 academic year is the introduction of the Annual Fund, a joint initiative between the School and the SJPA. The key elements are:
1. Projects will be selected to cover a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities.2. Projects will be identified at the start of each academic year so all fundraising will be on a targeted basis.
3. Funds will be spent shortly after they are raised to ensure pupils gain prompt benefit.
4. In addition to SJPA’s fundraising activities, separate donations are very much encouraged. This will enable the scale of projects supported by parents to be significantly enhanced.
Please use the following link for further details of the projects identified in the Annual Fund Brochure A number of events are held throughout the year starting with our Christmas Fayre which is closely followed by the Christmas Ball. Both of these were a great success, thank you for all your support.
The SJPA Committee consists of 16 parents representing all Houses and academic years. To find out more about the SJPA please contact Kim Beevor at beevor.family@btinternet.com

The SJPA has already purchased a Chapel Recording System from funds carried forward from last year along with the commitment to jointly fund, with the School and the St John’s Foundation, a Pavilion on the New Field.
We are looking forward to our Quiz Night on Saturday 24 March which is always a big hit, especially with our competitive teachers who have this year offered to organise the event! The year ends with our Summer Ball on Saturday 7 July 2012 which will be a themed night held in a marquee on the Quad.
