My St John's

OJ Events

The Development Department hosts a number of events over the year for our St John’s Community, and we would be delighted if you would like to join us on any of the occasions. Most recently we held one of our biggest alumni reunions of the year, OJ Saturday, which was a fantastic event and we are looking forward to our second reunion of the year, the OJ Dinner. We have also launched a number of professional networking groups and continue to run favourites such as the London Walk.

We have a lot coming up this year so make sure you have a read and stay up to date through our newsletters. If you have any event ideas we would love to hear them. Contact Development@stjohns.surrey.sch.uk to let us know your thoughts or if you would like to know more about any of our upcoming events.

Please refer to the Arts and Events listings for details of other School events taking place.

OJ Dinner 2017

Thursday 16 November 2017, 7.00pm

Not to be missed, this year the OJ Dinner will be taking place back at the School again. A drinks reception will be followed by a three-course meal with wine and coffee. It will be a fantastic opportunity not only to meet up with old friends but also to meet the new Head, Rowena Cole, and to hear her plans for the School.

Tickets for the dinner are priced at £35 (£20 for leavers from 2011)

London Walk - The City of London – Marketplace, Fire, Plague and Blitz

Wednesday 4 October 2017

MEETING POINT - Sundial on raised area outside Tower Hill Tube Station.

1.45pm for 2pm

Join Blue Badge Guide Viv Haxby for another fascinating London walk, this time through the heart of the City of London. We will hear about the origins of the City 2000 years ago with the arrival of the Romans; the development of the City as a market place and the birth of the City institutions such as Lloyds Insurance Market and the stock exchange . We will walk past a number of beautiful Wren churches and Viv will tell us how the City suffered two disasters and was rebuilt. And we will talk about the city's ancient system of governance and the role of the Lord Mayor today. We will finish in front of the Bank of England at 4pm.

Tickets: £12
