Overall, not the most successful day, though the boys proved in their last game that they are excellent rugby players and enjoyed their last rugby game as U16’s.

Results:
Loss vs Church’s Streton (17-26)
A physical game where we were sucked in to playing a more 15 a side style game, we didn’t play to our strengths and missed opportunities, though a great try from George Parry kept us in touch.

Loss vs Cwm Rhymni (10-12)
Very disappointing to lose to a team who just beat Sevenoaks, though again, a good try from Sean Kiff kept us there. It was there for the taking, though they got the important conversion that saw them through.

Win vs Sevenoaks (40-14)
A superb game against Sevenoaks, they had no idea what had hit them when Ben Brooks charged around the outside to secure St John’s first try. He was backed up by superb tackling by Iain Sexton and George Parry. David Coslette was also released for a try around the outside, where as Oliver Metcalfe decided that the shortest route to the try line was best and he stormed through with about three Sevenoaks boys holding on to him!

Very encouraging in the last game though we did not take our chances in the first two games losing both narrowly, much to the boys’ disappointment. Eexcellent try saving tackles kept us in touch in all the games. We were up against it with 10 players in the U16 unavailable but we could have won the group with a little more composure!
