More Stars at A level

33 A level candidates achieved 3 straight A grades or better and all pupils produced an excellent set of examination results continuing the trend set by their predecessors over previous years.

74% of the results achieved by pupils were A* to B grades. 15% of the results were A* grades.  Out of a total of 122 candidates at A level, there was a 100% overall pass rate.

The following pupils had particularly impressive results: Matthew Hilborn (top left) and Felicity Gallop were  both awarded 4 A*s, Fred Kelting 3 A*s and 2 As, Jake Luscombe 3 A*s and 1 A  and  both Pippa Simon (top left) and Ted Caplan gained 3 A*s.

Nick Haddock, who leaves St John’s later this month after seven years as Headmaster, said: "I am delighted by these results which reflect the significant academic achievements of the boys and girls. However, this is only one part of their story as these are young men and women who leave St John's with a clear vision for the first part of their life, but above all with the ability to make a significant contribution to the society in which they live. I am very proud of them."
