The St John's education seeks to find what each girl and boy is
fitted for in order that they may purposefully prepare for the first
part of their life and be fulfilled in their chosen calling. The
time at St John's is one in which each pupil discovers and develops
their intellectual capacity, their spiritual needs and through a
breadth of different experiences, the person they are and the contribution
they can make thereafter. Each boy and girl is valued and nurtured
on the basis of who they are and not according to year group, sex,
natural gifts or background. It is a preparation for life.
Core Objectives
In accordance with its Christian foundation, the core objectives
of the St John's School education are:
•
To provide an environment in which pupils can discover and
develop their spiritual, intellectual, social, cultural and
physical qualities to the full.
• To aspire to high standards, which promote a culture
of success in which confidence, high self-esteem and the power
of action prevail.
• To create a happy and secure environment in which
pupils learn to live together in order to foster a sense of
community, co-education, respect for each other and good citizenship.
• To give pupils the opportunity to take advantage of
a wide breadth of extra-curricular activities in order to
develop all aspects of their character.
• To provide opportunities for leadership and responsibility
in order to prepare for life beyond school.
• To enable all members of staff to strive for professional
fulfilment in their work through appropriate responsibilities,
opportunity and meeting their aspirations and expectations.
• To encourage parents to share in its aims, participate
in its life and consider it as an extension of their own nurture
at home.
